Internet and WiFi in the library
All Maastricht library branches have workstations with access to Maastricht City Library’s WiFi network. Members of the Maastricht City Library can use the workstations, the WiFi network, and the copy and print facilities for free. Non-members can make use of our free WiFi (“Free WiFi CC”) upon acceptance of our terms and conditions. To make use of our computer workstations and/or the copy and print facilities non-members must purchase a BASIC, STUDENT & SCIENCE pass at a one-off cost of €3.00. Copy and print facilities are charged by page. More information about our memberships, click here.
Internet use for members
When accessing the internet a log on screen is shown. Fill in your library card number (for example 24312001234567) and your password. After authentication of details you will be connected to the internet. If your card is blocked or no longer valid you will not be able to access the internet. To unblock your card you can settle any amount due at the self-service machines.
If you are a BASIC pass holder, when your free access period has expired you can still use the internet but you will be charged. You can upload credit on your library card at the self-service machines. The charge is €0.50 per 60 minutes and there is no further limit to the amount of time you can use the internet. If you use less than 60 minutes you will still be charged for the full period.
No guarantee of use
Unfortunately neither a pass nor a Maastricht City Library card can guarantee the availability of a computer, workspace or access to the WiFi network. No rights can be derived from the fact that the use of internet and WiFi is a paid service.
