Materials in other languages
Centre Céramique offers a wide range of materials in other languages. We have novels in Spanish, Italian, German and French, even books available in Esperanto and over fifty other languages that can be borrowed including more than 1,200 children’s books. We also have weekly and monthly magazines in English as well as daily newspapers in Turkish, French, English and German that can be read on-site at the library. Access to our online catalogue is only available in Dutch at present, so a basic understanding of Dutch is required. You can also ask a friend or colleague to help you navigate your way.
To access our materials in other languages:
- On the Centre Céramique homepage, type an asterisk (*) in the “Catalogus” field and click “catalogus”.
- You will see the “Zoek resultaten” on your screen, scroll down to “Taal”.
- To see a full list of languages available, click on “Meer”.
- Click on your chosen language.
- Then click on your chosen material, subject, genre etc.
- From here you can reserve your chosen materials.
Our newspapers and magazines are available to read on-site at the Lees Café on the first floor and reading area on the second floor. Our current offering includes:

All Maastricht City Library members who are under 18 or hold a COMFORT or DELUXE membership have access to the national online library catalogue. Here you can access e-books, audiobooks and follow an online course. Access to the national online library is only available in Dutch at present, so a basic understanding of Dutch is required. You can also ask a friend or colleague to help you navigate your way.
- Go to www.onlinebibliotheek.nl
- Click on “Inloggen”.
- If you have not yet registered, click on “pasnummer”.
- Type your Maastricht City Library pass number (starts with 2431…) and password.
- You can then access “e-books” or “luisterbieb” (for audiobooks).
